Privacy Policy

VinylData is a public vinyl price comparison service. This policy explains what information the current VinylData service handles and how it is used when you visit the website or run a search.

What VinylData handles

Search queries may include the artist, album, UPC, or other text you submit, along with the match scope you select and the time of the request. Search queries and public listing results may be stored in the service so VinylData can run a comparison, show the result, and reuse a fresh comparison for a limited cache period.

Public listing data may include titles, prices, currency, availability, condition, pressing details, product URLs, images, and other information published by the record stores VinylData checks. This information comes from public retailer pages rather than from a private retailer feed.

How we use information

VinylData uses search and listing information to operate the comparison, match compatible listings, cache fresh results, troubleshoot failures, protect the service, and improve the product. Hosting, networking, and other service providers may process ordinary technical information such as an IP address, browser information, or request time as part of delivering and securing the website.

Public retailer links

Search results link to third-party record stores. When you open a retailer link, that retailer may collect information under its own privacy policy and terms. VinylData does not control those sites, their data practices, their prices, or their availability.

What we do not currently collect

The current MVP does not require an account, password, or payment information, and it does not provide checkout, wishlists, or a collection profile. If you contact VinylData, we receive the contact information and message you choose to provide.

Retention

Fresh search results are cached for a limited period so repeated searches can reuse an active comparison instead of immediately repeating the same source requests. Backend records and technical logs may also be retained as needed to operate, diagnose, and secure the service. The current MVP does not promise a fixed deletion schedule for every backend record or log.

Your choices

You can choose not to submit information that is not needed for a search. You can also avoid opening retailer links if you do not want to interact with those third parties. Questions about this policy or a privacy request can be sent to hello@vinyldata.com.

Changes to this policy

VinylData may update this policy when the service or its data practices change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest version. Continued use of VinylData after an update means the updated policy applies to future use of the service.
